MSP Holiday Camps & Tax Free Childcare
At MSP we are coming to the end of our most successful Easter Holiday Camps since the business started in 2009! In early 2017 we were approached by Yarborough Leisure Centre which is run by the charity 'Active Nation' to run the Holiday Camps from their centre. We felt privelidged that the most popular leisure centre in Lincoln had asked us to run their holiday camps and felt that this was a fantastic opportunity to provide the children and parents of Lincoln and the surrounding villages with a first class venue and to also extend the range of activities we were able to offer. You may be aware that Yarborough not only has a large sports hall, an all weather playing surfance, a full 400m athletics track and most importantly, a swimming pool. At MSP at our Yarborough camp we were able to provide swimming for 1 hour each afternoon on our Easter Holiday camps and the popularity of the camps has exceeded all expectations. When we initially created the camps at Yarborough we allocated 40 places per day (200 in total) but these were quickly filling up and we extended the amount of places on some of the days and increased the amount of coaches at the camp. By the end of the week we had 235 bookings over the 5 days which is an average of 47 children per day! When the business was formed our main aim was to try and engage as many children as possible in sport and physical activity whether this is through our work in schools, extra curricular clubs, saturday sessions or our holiday camps. Its brilliant to know that our amazing coaches are having such a huge impact on the lives of so many children within the county. Overall our easter holiday camps across the 4 locations ran at 88% of capacity with over 580 children booked on which is a great achievement.
Moving forward, we are at Yarborough for 4 days in the May/June Half Term and for 4 weeks in the summer holidays. These dates along with the dates for our other locations are all available to be booked now and can be viewed on the holiday camp page of the website.
Our Newark Highfields site which has served us very well for 5 years now is going to be changing to the Magnus Academy in Newark for the Summer. This large secondary school with fantastic facilities is going to enable our holiday camps to thrive even further in the Newark area and to engage more children with the MSP holiday camp program. There is a large sports hall, all weather pitches and some brilliant grass pitches which is going to enable the coaches to deliver even better activities.
One thing that differentiates MSP from similar providers is the fact that all of our holiday camps are Ofsted registerd. This not only allows the parents to know that their children are having a fantastic time in our care but also reassures them that their children are in an approved and registered childcare setting. A further benefit of being Ofsted registered is that it allows parents to make payments to us through childcare vouchers. The government has introduced a brand new Tax-Free Childcare Scheme which I have detailed below. This is going to allow more and more working parents to access our holiday camps and pay through childcare vouchers, giving them effectively 20% tax relief!
We envisage our summer holiday camps to be even busier than our easter program and we do have a limited amount of spaces on each day so please do book early to avoid missing out on your chosen days. Ten things to know about the new Tax-Free Childcare scheme.

Tax-Free Childcare will be available to around 2 million households to help with the cost of childcare, enabling more parents to go out to work, if they want to, to provide greater security for their families.
Ten things to know about the scheme:
1. You’ll be able to open an online account
You’ll be able to open an online account, which you can pay into to cover the cost of childcare with a registered provider. This will be done through the government website, GOV.UK.
Tax-Free Childcare will be launched from early 2017. The scheme will be rolled out gradually to families, with parents of the youngest children able to apply first.
You’ll be able to apply for all your children at the same time, when your youngest child becomes eligible. All eligible parents will be able to join the scheme by the end of 2017.
2. For every 80p you or someone else pays in, the government will top up an extra 20p
This is equivalent of the tax most people pay - 20% - which gives the scheme its name, ‘tax-free’. The government will top up the account with 20% of childcare costs up to a total of £10,000 - the equivalent of up to £2,000 support per child per year (or £4,000 for disabled children).
3. The scheme will be available for children up to the age of 12
It will also be available for children with disabilities up to the age of 17, as their childcare costs can stay high throughout their teenage years.
4. To qualify, parents will have to be in work, and each earning at least £115 a week and not more than £100,000 each per year
The scheme is designed to be flexible for parents if, for example, they want to get back to work after the birth of a child or work part-time.
5. Any eligible working family can use the Tax-Free Childcare scheme - it doesn’t rely on employers offering it
Tax-Free Childcare doesn’t rely on employers offering the scheme, unlike the current scheme Employer-Supported Childcare. Any working family can use Tax-Free Childcare, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
6. The scheme will be available for parents who are self-employed
Self-employed parents will be able to get support with childcare costs in Tax-Free Childcare, unlike the current scheme (Employer-Supported Childcare) which is not available to self-employed parents. To support newly self-employed parents, the government is introducing a ‘start-up’ period. During this, self-employed parents won’t have to earn the minimum income level.
The scheme will be available to parents on paid sick leave and paid and unpaid statutory maternity, paternity and adoption leave.
7. If you currently receive Employer-Supported Childcare then you can continue to do so
You do not have to switch to Tax-Free Childcare if you do not wish to. Employer-Supported Childcare will continue to run. The current scheme will remain open to new entrants until April 2018. Parents already registered by this date will be able to continue using it for as long as their employer offers it.
However, Tax-Free Childcare will be open to more than twice as many parents as Employer-Supported Childcare.
Employers’ workplace nurseries won’t be affected by the introduction of Tax-Free Childcare.
8. Parents and others can pay money into their childcare account as and when they like
This gives you the flexibility to pay in more in some months, and less at other times. This means you can build up a balance in your account to use at times when you need more childcare than usual, for example, over the summer holidays.
It’s also not just the parents who can pay into the account - if grandparents, other family members or employers want to pay in, then they can.
9. The process will be as simple as possible for parents
The process will be as easy as possible for you. For example, you’ll re-confirm your circumstances every 3 months using a simple online process; and there will be a simple log-in service where parents can view accounts for all of their children at once.
10. You’ll be able to withdraw money from the account if you want to
If your circumstances change or you no longer want to pay into the account, then you’ll be able to withdraw the money you have built up. If you do, the government will withdraw its corresponding contribution.
More information will be available ahead of the scheme being introduced so parents making childcare decisions are able to consider all their options.

MSP Are Recruiting Primary PE Specialists
Multi Sport Pro (MSP) is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic Physical Education Specialist to take on this exciting role.The PE specialist will also be required to deliver after school clubs, holiday camps, and work alternate Saturday mornings. The successful candidate will also be required to observe and feedback to teachers on their PE lessons to help improve the school's PE.
You will be able to prepare and deliver fun and engaging lessons whilst making sure you cover the needs of all abilities in the class whilst always representing Multi Sport Pro in a positive manner. We will invest highly in the training and development of the suitable candidate to ensure they are fully equipped to deliver their job to the best of their ability.
Your Role will entail the following:
Ability to plan and deliver a physical education programme at KS1 and KS2.
- Ensure progress in physical education is being monitored.
- Assist in the delivery of sporting competitions, including officiating, scoring and preparation.
- Assist schools to understand schemes of work which reflect the new National Curriculum
- Ensure schools provide a rich varied extra-curricular programme.
- Promote the benefits of being physically active.
- Participate in relevant meetings and attend CPD sessions
We are looking at the following minimum criteria:
* NGB Level 2 qualification in at least one sport.
* At Least one year's experience in the primary school environment, either paid or unpaid.
* Strong communication skills which can be adapted to children, teachers and parents.
* Self motivated with a 'can do' attitude.
* Excellent teamwork skills
* Full UK Driving licence & transport
* Excellent behaviour management
* Outgoing and confident personality
* Well organised with exceptional leadership qualities
* NVQ Level 3 in supporting the delivery of PE & School Sport
* Multi Skills Level 2
* First Aid Certificate
* Degree in sports coaching or equivalent
* Qualified Teacher Status

MSP Summer Camps 2015
Wowww so after 5 weeks of MSP Summer Camps they have come to an end! What a summer it has been! We would like to thank every single parent who trusted their child with MSP and we hope that they have had a fantastic experience in our care.
MSP Summer Camps 2015 have been our most successful yet. We ran camps in 3 locations, Cherry Willingham, North Hykeham and Newark and we averaged a staggering 30.4 children (the .4 is important) per day on our camps!
We introduced the inflatable days this summer as a new idea to freshen up the holiday camps and these days in particular have been extremely popular and we have had lots of positive feedback already from both children and parents about how much they enjoyed these days. Rest assured that these will be continuing on future holiday camps.

Some parents have said to us that they would love us to run more holiday camp dates at their favoured location. As the primary focus for MSP as a business is to deliver our work in schools as this takes up 38/39 weeks of the year our staff are only able to take their annual leave in school holiday time. We have to base the amount of holiday camp dates we do on the amount of staff we have available at any given time to ensure our coach to child ratios are as they should be. We try to be as fair as possible and divide the holiday camps dates up to ensure that all of our customers have a good variety of dates to chose from in the school holidays.

MSP Kick Pro
The way we are running our Kick Pro sessions on a Thursday and Friday evening is changing! Since MSP started we have run our ever popular Saturday Morning Kick Pro session at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln. This session has always been a 'pay as you play' session where parents sign up on the website during the week to book their child on.
We have now roled out the same procedure for our Thursday evening session at Cherry Willingham Community School and Friday evening session at Welton Manor Park.
After parents have created their account they can sign up for individual sessions during the week or a number of sessions if they know their child is able to attend. There is no obligation to sign up for a block of sessions. We feel this will give parents the added flexibility to book their children in when it suits them.

Wow! So we are back underway in the 6th academic year since MSP was created! We will be working in a higher number of schools this year than ever before, covering a wider geographical area and delivering more CPD sessions to staff.
As a company we have recruited another high quality coach to our core staffing team. We welcome James Cairns who has done some self employed work for the company in the past whilst studying at University. James has finished his degree from Bishop Grosseteste University in Sports and Education Studies and joins our team as an employed member of staff. James has a huge amount experience working with Lincoln City Ladies and Notts County Ladies football teams as well as in the primary school environment.Sam Small who joined the company in January as a part time member has become a full time member of our coaching team joining the six others plus Directors Simon Mowbray & Stuart King. We could not be happier with the team we have and the quality of work they provide is second to none.
We have relocated our office from BG University after 2 and a half years in the BG Futures Enterprise Complex. We had been searching for a new office for 6-9 months and finally settled on the perfect place which is adjoined to the Greetwell Hollow Nursery on Carlton Boulevard. The space is perfect for our needs and gives us a more permanent base to further develop the business. We have a large sign outside the building so if you ever have any questions and we are in the office then please do feel free to give us a knock!
Further improvements for this year are the use of tablets for all the core team. The coaches will plan their schemes of work, session plans and complete any feedback forms, registers and accident report forms on their tablets. This is in order to significantly reduce the amount of printing that we do as well as streamlining the process whereby the coaches can send any of this necessary information to the schools if required to do so. Also children who are not taking part in PE lessons due to illness or injury are able to use the tablets to take pictures of the session and analyse their classmates performances. The feedback we have received so far from the schools regarding this has been brilliant. It has also allowed the coaches to share their ideas and plans with each other via the 'Dropbox' Cloud System which will save planning time and give each coach fresh ideas.
After a successful Summer Holiday Camp program we have decided to run all 4 of our Ofsted Registered Holiday Camps in October Half Term. We will be located at Cherry Willingham, Robert Pattinson Academy in Hykeham, Newark Highfields and Louth Meridian Leisure Centre. With only one member of our team taking holiday in October this allows us to run a larger program. As you will understand our coaches have to take their holiday in school holiday time in order to keep the continuity in the school environment which is the primary focus of the business. For the October Camps we have introduced a fancy dress themed day on Friday 31st October where we are encouraging any children that are attending to dress up in Halloween fancy dress and the coaches will be doing so too! All of the activities on the day will be halloween themed and their will be prizes up for grabs throughout the day and for the best outfits! It looks set to be a really great week with bookings already coming in thick and fast.We are constantly looking to improve our Holiday Camp program so if you do have any feedback at all then please do email me firstname.lastname@example.org and anything said will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
